The time has come for the annual TAX DAY SALE!   Yes, every year I roll out the discounts in an attempt to raise money to pay taxes, while at the same time giving YOU the opportunity to spend any refund you may have received on some great new music.     Here is what I have done to get things going:

1)  I have updated the DISCOUNT BIN where you can always find great deals on clearance items.

2)  I have added a pile of CD’s into the USED CD section of the homepage.   If you want a good deal on previously owned CD’s, check it out!

3)  I have instigated a sweeping 15% discount on all other purchases in the store, excluding new releases (which are shown with a “new” icon on the homepage), plus an additional discount, going up to 25% on all releases from A Different Drum’s own label (again, excluding new releases).   You can go to www.adifferentdrum.com and do some serious shopping now!

NOTE:   The discount prices are not displayed on the regular listings.  You ONLY see the discount applied once you are using the shopping cart to check out.   THEN you’ll see your savings displayed.

The sale goes until TAX DAY, APRIL 15th.    That’s nearly two weeks to explore the audio samples, look for the music you enjoy, and pick it up at a discount.    PLEASE help me out by spreading the word to your friends.   I’d love to move the CD’s from my warehouse to your collections.

Compulsion “Made In China” (2CDR) $16 — This is the sophomore release from Com.pulsion, a cool act from Spain.  The album features 12 songs, plus there is a bonus disc of extra material for the fans.  They play a sound quite similar to what we hear extensively out of Germany, with a rich vocal, edgy synths, and a nice blend of guitars on some of the songs.  You can listen to audio samples to get a feel for the band, and order your 2CD here :

I had a great trip to Minneapolis last weekend and was happy to see several of A Different Drum’s customers there.   If that was indeed Information Society’s final show, as was rumored, then they went out with a bang.  It was very entertaining and I’m glad to have been there.  If you’d like to read a few notes on my road trip to the show, I posted them here on my blog :
