Hello friends of the synthpop community!  It’s time for another weekly update.   There are some nice new releases to talk about this week, but I know that several of you are wondering about the BIG, new VNV Nation release.   That one is expected to arrive here next week, so watch the homepage closely– once you see it appear on www.adifferentdrum.com in the catalog, then you’ll know it is here and ready to ship.

Northern Kind “Wired” $14 — This is the latest CD release from a cool, British synthpop act that combines old-school, bouncy synthpop with a cool female lead vocalist. It has a very retro feel and has very catchy songs that sound like a collection of could-have-been 80’s hits.

Wintry “Atmosphere Around Us” $16 — This Brazilian import CD is the debut release from a dreamy, darkwave band that combines synth atmosphere, layed-back beats, and female lead vocals with a blend of German and English language lyrics. They have a few songs that pick up the tempo a notch as well.
