After years of waiting…

The “Suffer” single came out in 2007 on CD and almost instantly sold out.

The “Sanctuary” vinyl+CD combination single came out in 2008 and is still available for collectors and fans.

Hey, I know you just heard from me, but I’m sending out this special weekend update to talk about some of the “major label” import releases coming out next month.

Those of you who have been ordering from A Different Drum for a long time know that I rarely put up CD’s for pre-order.   I’ve usually only done that for label releases, or for releases that A Different Drum is almost exclusively distributing in the USA.   However, I’m going to do it in a BIG WAY right now.

That’s right, I’m putting up several releases for pre-order which are coming out this March.  These are all European imports, and I’ve chosen to use the pre-order approach for several reasons:

1) It helps me to know how many of these CD’s to bring in for inventory so that I don’t run out too soon.  Since they are generally expensive to stock, I tend to be conservative about quantities, yet I also hate running out too soon and making customers wait for restocks.

2) The pre-orders also help me to have the money to order the CD’s in for you, since (again) they tend to be expensive, especially if there is high demand and I need a lot of them.

Hello friends!  This is Todd at A Different Drum.  Heading into the new year, I find myself in a financially strapped position with recent quarterly taxes and other obligations, so I just made a big migration of many older CD titles in the synthpop catalog to the “discount bin”.    Rather than do an “email only” sale like I’ve done in the past, I’m going to handle all these through the online shopping cart.

These are still clearance prices on items that will be deleted from the catalog for the moment, so first-come-first-serve.  Since the catalog does not update automatically when items are placed in shopping carts, it is possible that a CD may sell out before your order is placed, but still show up in your shopping cart.  I’ll update as fast as possible, but if an item is sold-out before your order, I’ll simply issue a refund for that item.  Let’s see if this works easy enough.
