Hello, this is Todd at A Different Drum.   Some new arrivals have rolled into the store during the last week, including everything from mellow, to intense, to old-school… so let’s take a quick look at what you should explore this week.

NEW ARRIVALS:

The Twins “Video Classics and Rare Clips” (DVD) $30 — This European import DVD (PAL format) features the classic music videos for songs such as “Ballet Dancer”, “Time Will Tell”, “Love System”, etc.   This classic synthpop act from Germany also included some bonus, unlisted video clips in addition to the song listed on the track list.  Order the DVD here :

Legacy of Music “rEPeat” $18 — This latest release from the EBM / dark synthpop band from Germany features several new songs, plus some bonus remixes, adding up to 11 intense, punchy tracks.    You can listen to the audio samples and order the CD here :

Endless Blue “Fever Dreams” (CDR) $12 — This is the third album from Endless Blue, three years in the making.   For those unfamiliar with this act, they play a dreamy, down-tempo, and somewhat melancholy sound with breathy female vocals, provided by Laura Hillman who also sang on the Somegirl “The Velvet Hour” album.   Listen to the audio samples and buy the CD here :

Tenek “Stateless” (CDR) $18 — This British import features some great electronic pop music.   This is a duo made up of Geoff Pinckney (The Nine, Alien#Six13) and Peter Steer.   If you miss some of the great melodies and sounds of The Nine, then this is as close as it gets to a return.  Listen to the audio samples and order the CD here :

Project Pitchfork “Dream Tiresias” $18 — Due to special request, I’ve brought in a few copies of this latest release from the industrial superstars Project Pitchfork, who do also blend in a strong synthpop element in their music.   This import features three bonus remix tracks as well.  You can see the track list and order here :

Various Artists “Orbit Electro” (2CD) $24 — This new compilation from Major Records (Germany) pulls together a bunch of the established as well as some unknown acts that are pushing the new synthpop / electro movement forward.   You get some cool remixes from bands like IAMX, Boytronic, and Ladytron, as well as tracks by newcomers like Tenek, Ultima Bleep, Mink, Eden, etc.   It is a well-rounded collection worth buying to keep up with the scene.   See the tracks and order here :
